1. About these terms
These terms apply when you access, use or purchase access to Hidden Cask. By using the service, you agree to follow them. Before making a purchase, you will be shown the applicable price, access period, storage allowance and a link to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use or purchase the service.
2. Legal drinking age and responsible use
You must be of legal drinking age in your location to participate in a whisky tasting. Hidden Cask is about conversation, discovery and thoughtful tasting—not drinking more.
- Never pressure another person to drink or finish a sample.
- Provide water, food and alcohol-free alternatives.
- Do not drink and drive or operate machinery after drinking.
- Stop drinking if you feel unwell and follow relevant health advice.
3. What Hidden Cask provides
Hidden Cask provides tools for organising blind tasting games, recording scores and notes, revealing results and maintaining personal game and bottle histories. Hidden Cask does not sell or supply alcohol.
4. Host responsibilities
The person hosting a game is responsible for running the event safely, checking that participants are of legal drinking age, controlling sample sizes, protecting blind bottle identities and ensuring that nobody is encouraged to drink irresponsibly.
5. Profiles and access codes
You must provide accurate profile information and keep verification codes, private game links and profile access links secure. You are responsible for activity carried out using access provided to you. Tell us promptly if you believe access has been compromised.
6. Acceptable use
Do not misuse Hidden Cask, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, automate abusive requests, upload unlawful or harmful content, impersonate another person, or use the service in a way that harms other players.
7. Bottle information and results
Bottle descriptions, prices, images, classifications, collector-entered values and other catalogue information may be incomplete, approximate or supplied by users or third parties. Tasting scores, preferences and collection values are subjective. Hidden Cask content is for entertainment and general information, not medical, health, investment or professional advice.
8. Availability and changes
Hidden Cask is a developing personal project. Features may change, be interrupted or be withdrawn. We may correct errors, remove inappropriate content, suspend abusive access or update these terms when reasonably necessary. Changes will not remove a paid storage allowance already purchased merely because a different allowance is later offered to new customers.
If Hidden Cask is to close, we will aim to provide reasonable notice where practicable and an opportunity for signed-in players to export available collection data before the service ends.
9. Intellectual property
The Hidden Cask name, branding, game design, interface and original content belong to their respective owner. Free and Collector access is for personal, non-commercial tasting games. An active Venue plan permits commercial hosting through the provided Venue Mode, but does not permit copying, reselling or presenting the underlying service as your own.
10. Paid access and fair use
Collector access
Collector is a one-off purchase rather than a recurring subscription. It provides access to the Collector features for the operational lifetime of the Hidden Cask service; “lifetime” does not mean the lifetime of the purchaser and is not a promise that Hidden Cask will operate indefinitely.
Your collection remains private
Bottles, images and information that you add or edit in My Collection remain unique to your player profile. Manually added collection bottles are not added to the shared Hidden Cask gameplay catalogue, do not appear in game search and cannot be selected by other players. If you add a bottle from your tasting history, your private collection record remains separate: changes to your notes, prices, values, quantity, status or image do not change the shared catalogue or previous game records.
Collector image allowance
Collector includes storage for up to 500 active private bottle images per player profile. Uploaded images are resized and optimised, and the large original upload is not retained as part of the service. Replacing an image already attached to a bottle does not use an additional space. At the limit, images may still be replaced or removed, but another bottle image cannot be added until a space is available.
The 500-image allowance is part of the Collector plan offered at purchase. Hidden Cask may introduce different allowances or plan options for future purchases, but will not reduce this purchased allowance for existing Collector customers. Reasonable technical and acceptable-use restrictions still apply, including the right to remove unlawful, harmful or abusive material.
Venue access
Venue access is not lifetime access. It may be provided through individual event credits, event packs or a time-limited annual licence. One event credit covers one branded Venue Mode game without a separate per-player charge. The price, duration and quantity supplied will be shown before payment when checkout becomes available.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hidden Cask is not responsible for losses caused by unsafe alcohol consumption, reliance on catalogue information, unauthorised sharing of private access, temporary unavailability, or circumstances outside reasonable control.

13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, while preserving any mandatory consumer rights that apply in your place of residence.
